This year I attended the Learning Solutions Conference only online and found it very productive the way they made the main lectures and discussions available to the outside audience.
For those who don't know, LSCON is a conference that covers the main emerging technologies, tools and services and promotes connections in the Learning & Development industry.
In this article, I have selected some trends for the eLearning market in both learning models and applications that will make the Instructional Designer's life much easier.
Here is 6 eLearning trends that may continue or emerge in 2023:
1 - Hybrid learning models: The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of hybrid learning models, which combine online and in-person instruction. In 2023, we may see more schools and universities implementing this model to offer flexible learning options for students.
2 - Artificial intelligence (AI) in eLearning: AI can help personalize the learning experience by providing adaptive learning paths and targeted feedback. In 2023, we may see more eLearning platforms integrating AI to enhance the learning process.
3- Gamification: Gamification involves adding game elements to eLearning to make it more engaging and interactive. In 2023, we may see more eLearning platforms incorporating gamification elements to make learning more fun and immersive.
4 - Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR): VR and AR can create immersive learning experiences by simulating real-life scenarios. In 2023, we may see more eLearning platforms adopting these technologies to provide more realistic and engaging learning experiences.
5 - Microlearning: Microlearning involves breaking down complex topics into smaller, bite-sized modules that can be consumed in short bursts. In 2023, we may see more eLearning courses adopting this approach to make learning more accessible and convenient.
6 - Social learning: Social learning involves using social media and other online tools to facilitate learning and collaboration among students. In 2023, we may see more eLearning platforms leveraging social learning to promote peer-to-peer learning and knowledge sharing.
